Holiday Advertising
Another year has almost gone by…. Did you you attain your goals? Did you ever write them down? How close did you come? Wouldn’t it be nice to have some of your repetitive tasks on auto pilot?
This Year’s Holiday Advertising
Oddly enough this year’s November advertising will be tied to Black Friday. As strange as this may seem to some… It is going to be on the day after Thanksgiving again! And next year….You guessed it. The day after Thanksgiving. </end sarcasm. Whats going to change, or be different? The trends, styles or newest gadgets. Yet, the theme and what attracts them to your website / store, will still be the same. Can this be put on automatic?
Auto Pilot Holiday Advertising
What if you had a ‘canned’ themed ad that would draw your clients in, that you could use every year; year after year? Instead of paying a webmaster, or maybe even having to do it yourself to create a themed web page. Re-arranging your Home/ Index page to accommodate a themed ad. I am referring to what we call in the motion graphic industry as client changes. Where one change to the Master and all that are duplicates are changed in one key stroke. Saving time and money. So lets delve into that. By doing this in reverse, having the same ad, same link and only needing to change the final ad. Canning your holiday advertising into a ‘one sized box’ to then make changes at the customer level. The HTML web page where the trends, styles and prices are changed. Sometimes no changes needed, they are just repeated. Like BOGO’s.
Canned Holiday Advertising
Every year it’s the same old’ thing, Black Friday in November and Christmas in December. Every year your affiliate pages offer you to switch out your logo ad, or link where you have your ad parked to generate traffic. Every year you tell them; “Throw the generic Black Friday ad up and the Candy Canes at Christmas.” Their webmaster makes a change in the code and voila’ you ad is now changed to a themed ad. However, it looks like the other 99 affiliates ads. ‘A floating Christmas stocking or a Black Friday Deals logo’ that has or is a hyperlink to your store with nothing special, nothing to remember, or recall you by. Where you STILL have to adjust your home page for the theme and to create excitement and urgency of that themed sale. ~Cloned advertisements!
Overcoming Cloned Holiday Advertising
When you have your own flash video made, which by the way are adjustable in size. (as seen above) such as using Black Friday’s theme, another for Christmas, and so on. You would then be prepared every year, with the known fact that these changes are going to be made. By keeping a default, reserved place holder through out the year, where you park your video; you can switch the videos out for those themes. Even your webmaster would be ashamed to charge you for switching a video link, with Youtube, it is ridiculously easy. Heck, even if you NEVER updated the same old motion graphic video for 10 years and used it to draw clients in for your holiday advertising, at least they know how to look, or find you. I am referring to a video with a link in it, to a page, where you need only to change out the media pictures of the latest wiget on sale, and it’s price, at the customer’s level. Saving you time to manage elsewhere. Bamm you done!
(See the video above and click the link for an example.)
I am certain anyone could get a lot of mileage out of a generic themed video for their business. Thereby, never having to mess with their Home page theme or layout; which in-turn saves money! Ask your webmaster about the simplicity of it, the time, overall costs of these yearly holiday advertising changes it will save. Furthermore, separating you from the competition and distancing your company from those other 99 ads, mentioned above.
